LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & TOURISM COORDINATOR BEAUFORT WEST

Salary: T11 (R260 292 – R337 872 per annum)

Minimum Requirements: National Diploma in Tourism / Economics / Local Economic Development. or equivalent qualification, plus 5 years working experience preferably in Local Government. Sound knowledge of legislation applicable to LED and Tourism in the municipal environment and in depth knowledge of applications, procedures and interpretative skills to formulate and implement plans and programmes. Computer Literacy. Valid B drivers’ license.  Minimum competency qualification will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities: Identify key performance areas associated with the formulation and execution of programmes and initiatives to drive Local Economic and Tourism in the region. Formulate, align and implement local Economic Development and Tourism Plans and strategies. Implementing tourism strategy and sector plan. Develop and review the Integrated opportunities and formulating marketing plans and strategies. Monitors the functionality of LED for LED working groups. Assist local municipalities with development and implementation of LED and Tourism plans and projects. Identifies opportunities with regards to Local Economic Development. Assist with identification of employment and growth opportunities. Create channels of communication with and development of SMME’s. Providing support to local traders, in marketing their products. Development of tourism route development. Provide assistance to local municipalities with the permit application process for filming. Create opportunities for the implementation of district events. Assist local tourism organisations with the tourism product development. Assist with the implementation of tourism transformation projects.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER / SNR. ENV.HEALTH PRACTITIONER BEAUFORT WEST

Salary: T11/T12 (R260 292 – R398 856 per annum)

Minimum Requirements:

● National Diploma/Degree in Environmental Health.

● Proof of current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Independent Practitioner

● Managerial, organisational and analytical skills.

● Ability to function independently and effectively in stressful situations. 

● Sound interpersonal and communication skills.

● Good facilitation and presentation skills.

● Computer literacy.

● Valid Code B Driver’s license with own reliable vehicle

● Language proficiency in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.

Duties include: - Delivery of municipal health services in accordance with organisational policies and statutory requirements.
